Pink Box Gum

Premium Pink Box Gum is a quality hardwood. Not quite in the league of Ironbark, but they are still considered a quality option if you perfer something diffeent.

Still with a good long burn and powerful heat on par with the seasoned Ironbark, both these gums are seasoned and dried well in advance of the winter season.

The Pink Box is a strong red colour. With a grey bark you can see the wood is aged well and very dry.

Greg's Tips

For your firewood and fire starting process, Greg suggests you mix your load with premium yellow/pink box gum. Please ask for prices of mixed loads.

When possible store in a dry place, using tarp to cover if necessary, this will help keep your wood dry throughout the season.

Order your wood early, during the winter season Wood U Like It becomes very busy, we suggest ordering in February or at least 2 weeks before you feel you will run out of firewood.

If you have a specific fire place, wood burner or pizza oven opening please let us know and we will make sure to supply the wood in easy to manage sizes.

Greg was a wealth of knowledge regarding the timber best suited to our needs. We are having a new fireplace installed, and he advised the importance of not burning it too hot too soon, which timber best suits for this purpose, reducing smoke etc. We have an outdoor firepit, and within our ute load, he kindly supplied timber suitable for both situations. Until speaking with Greg, I would have had no clue - I thought firewood was just firewood, what species work best - I had no clue. He delivered a load to us within the week, at the time he said, unloading and stacking so we are all good to go, once our new fireplace goes in.
